Individuals who are eligible for membership as MLEP Logging Professionals are owners of logging businesses. A logging business is a sole-proprietorship, partnership, or corporation that:
1) purchases stumpage and/or is an independent contract logger,
2) controls timber harvesting, and
3) owns timber harvesting equipment.

1) hauls wood as an independent contract hauler,
2) controls timber hauling, and
3) owns trucking equipment.

The Minnesota Logger Education Program requires the following of a business owner and/or an “in-woods” person actively responsible for the logging site attend initial first year training requirements and annual continuing education. Click below to view specific training requirements:
Associate members are boldly displayed within MLEP's Forest Resource Management Directory, and are listed along with a link to their website (if applicable) on the MLEP website. Associate members receive copies of MLEP newsletters, and receive membership mailings including policy updates and opportunity announcements.
