Hardwood sawlog supply challenges persist
Production has been low according to recent reports, with some regions’ lumber production data being better than others, both in Canada and the U.S. This was due to poor logging conditions, forest fires, tornados, mill closures, and some facilities controlling output for periods of time which all resulted in shortages for certain species, even though demand had not improved greatly.
