Jobs in bioenergy, woody biomass and cellulosic fuels up in 2023

The U.S. Department of Energy on Aug. 28 released its annual U.S. Energy and Employment Report, reporting that bioenergy electric power generation (EPG) jobs were up slightly last year. Employment in wood biomass and cellulosic fuels were also up.

The bioenergy EPG sector employed 12,857 workers last year, up 0.1% when compared to 2022. The largest job gains were in the utilities industry.
