Description

For new and experienced forestry contractors, including (but not limited to) loggers, tree service, planners, tree planters, and fuels reduction businesses. Get help deciphering the government contracting process, learn about current and future hand and mechanical work projects on public and private lands, and discuss challenges facing the forestry industry.

There will be opportunities to connect with contract representatives from federal, state, and county agencies. Learn about the different contracting systems, prerequisite(s) for submitting responses/receiving an award, and what is needed to be part of a solicitation - insurance, certifications, etc. Additional information will be shared about upcoming work the government expects to contract out in the coming years.

APEX Accelerator will provide an overview and follow-up technical assistance for getting registered in the federal SAM.gov and VIPR systems, as well as the state SWIFT system. 

The Small Business Development Center will provide resources on developing a business plan, business finance basics, and strategic planning for business growth. 

***The Government Contracting for Forestry Resource Day qualifies for 3 hours of Minnesota Logger Education Program credit. You must find another 3 hour MLEP class to complete your 6 hours of training for the year.***
