An individual can only receive credit once for each course. Check with MLEP if you are unsure what you have taken in the past.
COST: Classes are free to MLEP members. The cost for non-members wishing to receive MLEP credit for online training is $100 for 3-hour credit courses and $175 for 6-hour credit courses.

Forest Management Guideline Training (6 hrs. MLEP Credit)
The eFMG course provides an introduction to Minnesota's Forest Management Guidelines (FMGs). All new MLEP members and Qualified Logging Professional (QLP) site supervisors are required to complete this training. Upon completion, participants will be knowledgeable of the Guidelines and how to implement them in their sale design and harvest operations. eFMG consists of online modules with YouTube videos and quizzes that must be successfully completed with a passing score. Completion of the training in one sitting is not required nor recommended. If you choose to take breaks or continue the training at a later time, you can visit the eFMG training home page to continue the training where you left off by using the username and password you set up when registering. The course must be completed and submitted on an individual basis (one person per quiz per module). You can complete this training on a computer, laptop, tablet or phone with good internet and sound. Course automatically notifies MLEP of successful completion for credit. You will need to complete all 12 modules and the FINAL EXAM to receive credit for the course.

Ash Management Overview - MNDNR (3 hrs. MLEP Credit)
An overview of the MNDNR's efforts regarding the management of ash dominated stands on state lands in Minnesota in response to Emerald Ash Borer. The video presentation discusses current EAB quarantine areas in Minnesota, rules regarding movement of ash and hardwood materials, signs and symptoms of EAB infestation in ash and recommendations for reporting possible EAB issues. It also covers the ash resource priorities, challenges and opportunities throughout the state. Possible management options and suggestions are offered for different types of ash dominated stands. This course will address concepts related to SFI FMS PM 11.2 1 b, c, and d and SFI FSS PM 6.2 1 b, c, and d.The quiz for this course must be completed to receive credit. Carbon 101: Understanding the Forest Carbon Debate (3 hrs. MLEP Credit)
The role forests play in carbon sequestration and mitigation may seem fairly straightforward, but there are many factors that should be considered in evaluating and establishing effective policies regarding carbon. Carbon 101 will walk through an overview of the carbon cycle, the issues regarding forest carbon and a discussion of the role forests and wood products have in carbon mitigation for society. This session should help provide a scientifically based understanding of the forest and carbon connection with which viewers can evaluate the ongoing state and national programs related to carbon mitigation. Current Issues In Forestry (3 hrs. MLEP Credit)
Keeping up to date with issues in the forest products industry can be confusing and time consuming. The 2020 version of Current Issues in Forestry will provide an overview of the SFI program 2019 Annual Report: "Forests of Opportunity". Additionally, this session will review the Vital Forests/Vital Communities report, in an effort to evaluate how the initiatives developed in that program have impacted the forest products industry since they were implemented. Both segments will ask attendees to think about the current state of Minnesota’s forest industry and decide which issues are most relevant to their operations. Will address concepts related to SFI FMS PM 11.2 1 a and j and SFI FSS PM 6.2 1 a and j. The quiz for this course must be completed to receive credit. MN DNR Purchaser Registration System (3 hrs. MLEP Credit)
An overview of the MNDNR's new online Timber Operator and Purchaser System (TOPS). The video presentation includes a step-by-step orientation to the registration process and demonstration of the features available regarding timber permits. This course will address SFI FMS PM 11.2 1 i and k, and SFI FSS PM 6.2 1 i and k. The quiz for this course must be completed. The first question of the quiz contains the link to the online training. Results of the quiz are automatically sent to MLEP. Full credit for this course requires registration in the MNDNR TOPS program for the company.
Because the MNDNR TOPS program allows one registration per company, only one primary contact for each company can receive credit for completion of this course.

OSHA Introduction to Safety Supervision (3 hrs. MLEP Credit)
Supervising activities on a jobsite includes many responsibilities. Some supervisory knowledge is learned through experience. Safety supervision is not always recognized, understood or implemented. This course is an introduction to safety supervision and will cover a broad range of topics related to the responsibilities a supervisor has regarding the safety of his/her co-workers and employees. WIll address concepts related to SFI FMS PM 11.2.1 1 f and g and SFI FSS PM 6.2.1 f and g. The quiz for this course must be completed to receive credit. Truck Weight Compliance Overview (3 hrs. MLEP Credit)
This overview version of the Truck Weight Compliance training course is provided by Program Instructor Greg Hayes and reviews key concepts that are normally addressed during the in person Truck Weight Compliance classes. This course DOES NOT replace the in person classes, but is designed to give an overview of key information as well as contacts for additional support since the in person classes were cancelled due to Covid. It is highly recommended that participants plan to attend an in person Truck Weight Compliance class when the classes resume. Credit for this overview course is good only for MLEP members and is intended to provide information regarding truck weight regulations as part of online options until classes resume. This course will address concepts related to SFI FMS PM 11.2 I 1g, h and I and SFI FSS PM 6.2 I 1g, h and i.
